It is our intent that Art inspires, engages and challenges pupils; equipping them with the knowledge and skills to experiment, invent, create, develop and refine their own works of art, craft and design. Art and Design at St Keverne Primary is of a high-quality, and this creative part of our curriculum engages, inspires and challenges our children, equipping them with the knowledge and skills to experiment, invent and create their own works of art and design.
Children have opportunities to paint, draw, print, make collages, use fabrics and threads, history of art and paper fold. They are taught the skills and techniques and then given the opportunity to practise them to produce individual and group pieces of work. Children are encouraged to critically evaluate their own work and that of the others in order to learn from their experiences. Children have benefited hugely from working with local artists.
